Implant; It is an artificial tooth root, mostly screw-shaped, placed in the jaw and used in the treatment of missing teeth. Implants are
mostly made of titanium because the jawbone perceives titanium as a part of the body. The reason why it is widely used in dentistry is;

It can be applied to a wide range of patients, from patients with a single missing tooth to patients with no teeth at all. Implant
application is performed without any intervention to the adjacent teeth. Chewing sensation is closest to normal and provides treatment
opportunity without interfering with other teeth; Today, methods involving implants have become one of the most commonly applied treatment
methods. Dental implants can be applied to patients in the following situations:
•Single tooth missing: If the bone in the area where the implant will be placed is sufficient, the implant can be used to replace
the missing tooth by making a dental crown on the implant. •Complete or partial edentulism: In cases where more than one tooth is missing,
fixed or removable dentures can be
made using implants. Fixed prostheses are fixed by screwing them to the implants. These prostheses are also much more comfortable and
useful than removable prostheses.
Chin and facial defects: An aesthetic appearance can be achieved by using implants in the treatment of defects in the jaw and facial area.
•Melted jaw bone problem: Missing teeth can cause melting of the jaw bone over time. If the jaw bone has melted, bone grafting may be required
before implant treatment.
Patients who do not prefer removable prosthesis: Implant is also an ideal option for patients who do not prefer removable prosthesis.
However, it is more comfortable and useful than removable dentures.
